OOTD recently teamed up with Glossier to shoot their new collection (for dogs?!)—and their human counterparts, of course. After a day of playing with puppies in SoHo and seeing everyone wearing baby pink hoodies or adding subtle hints of pink to their outfits, I immediately wanted to inject some vibrant color into my summer wardrobe.
For a long time, I hated wearing pink because it reminded me of my 15-year-old self who painted her entire room pink, thrifted all-pink furniture, and only allowed pink clothing to show in her closet. No, that is not an exaggeration—I get overly fixated on things. Shout out to my girlies who find one song they like and listen to it on repeat until they hate it (my friends don’t let me have the AUX cord on road trips, which is entirely fair).
But after buying three pink dresses for Kentucky Oaks Day, I realized I still love it. It’s fun, whimsical, and heals your inner child—especially when you want to pretend you aren't a corporate girl drowning in emails. Pink is a mandatory addition to your summer palette.
Here are my 5 favorite ways to wear pink this summer (inspired by what the girls in NYC were actually wearing these past couple of weeks):

As we all know, styling scarves in unexpected ways is a massive trend right now. I specifically love a hot pink or baby pink scarf. Tie her around your head, wrap her around your waist—every variation adds the perfect pop of color. If you’re not ready for a full-on pink look, this is the perfect accessory to add to your summer mood board. I am currently loving this So Silk Bandana from Free People that can also be styled as a top!

I mean… who doesn’t want to own a cute pair of pink heels or sandals for the summer? Consider it an ode to a Pucci summer—these feel absolutely necessary to style with any fun, vibrant patterns. Whether you want to tap into the sporty trend with some pink Chanel sneakers, or keep it chic via a pair of sparkly Cleo Sequin Pumps from Dolce Vita, take some styling inspo from the girls on the OOTD page.

Activewear has been dominating the streets recently. And while I don’t necessarily condone a workout set for a night out with the girls, I can’t deny that a matching set for brunch or a shopping day has been on my mind—especially after yesterday's brutal 95-degree meltdown in New York. The girls at our shoot paired their sets with a Glossier hoodie, which is the ultimate uniform for dog walking, WFH, or honestly, when you just want to completely evade your Instagram mutuals under a hood and giant sunglasses.

A pink purse might feel like an obvious choice, but the reality is an endless sea of black and brown bags on the street. It's time to inject some playfulness back into our accessories—after all, the 2000s Dior monogram pink bags became iconic for a reason.
To recreate these NYC looks, scour the internet for a fun shaped Chanel bag or if you want a piece that doubles as a conversation starter, opt for the Underwear Pouch from Edie Parker. For slightly more of a statement piece, I am personally obsessed with the Flora Orchid Bag from JW Pei.

Another staple that every New York girl has in her closet right now is a pair of micro shorts. They are the only thing standing between you and total humidity defeat during a July afternoon. If you’re looking to replicate Olivia’s street-style moment, her shorts are from Retrofete. I’m also fully fixated on the pink striped pairs from the Frankies Bikinis x JENNIE collab, and frankly, anything from Handover is a non-negotiable summer necessity.
Even if the only pink you wear this season is a glossy swipe of your favorite lip balm, there's no denying the color is inescapable. And hey, if you refuse to commit to the aesthetic yourself, you can always let your dog do the heavy lifting via Glossier’s new pink leash. Whether you go full Barbie-core or just accent with a stray accessory, I promise it will give your summer wardrobe the exact flair it needs.
