The Role

We are looking for creative, reliable, and style-conscious Freelance Filmers to join our NYC network. You will be filming short-form video and photo content for curated fashion, lifestyle, and digital creators.

If you have an eye for lighting, background aesthetics, and video settings—plus the social skills to direct models on the street—this is for you.

How It Works

Accept Shoots On-Demand: Receive notifications for shoot requests in NYC through the ootd app and accept the ones that work for your schedule.
On-Location Filming: Meet up with hand-picked creators on location across the city to shoot photo and video content.
Get Paid: Earn per shoot with total flexibility over when and where you work.

What We’re Looking For

Technical Eye: Strong understanding of mobile or camera photo/video settings, light/shadow dynamics, framing, and clean backgrounds.
Creative Direction: Ability to confidently direct creators and models during a shoot to capture the best angles and movements.
Vibe & Professionalism: High energy, street-smart safety awareness, and great interpersonal skills—you’ll be working directly with top creators!
Aesthetic Awareness: Passion for fashion, trends, and visually engaging content.

Onboarding & Training Process

We take quality seriously so our creators always get the best experience. Here is what onboarding looks like once you apply:

Step 1: Application & Moodboard
Submit your application along with a Pinterest moodboard highlighting your personal style and content inspiration.
Step 2: In-Person Vibe Check
An informal, IRL meeting to see if we’re a mutual culture fit.
Step 3: Paid Onboarding & Training
Before taking solo shoots on the app, you’ll complete a structured, hands-on paid training sequence led by our NYC team (Nic):
- Walkthrough & Shadowing: Run through our training deck and shadow professional shoots.
- Co-Filming Practice: Practice filming alongside our lead pros.
- Supervised Shoots: Take the lead on supervised sessions with real-time feedback to get you 100% ready for the platform.
