Coachella is the ultimate playground for fashion risk-takers. Last season served up a lot of animal prints, cowboy boots, micro shorts and skirts, bra tops, and plenty of lace. This year, we expect a colorful twist: turquoise takes center stage, paired with fringe, suede, and those iconic circular ’70s sunglasses. All the Western flair you love, just a little brighter and bolder.

A Western twist on Coachella dressing: a cow-print mini skirt paired with tan, cowboy-inspired boots, balanced by a cropped dark-brown halter. Western influences have dominated the trend cycle for the past few seasons, and at Coachella, they return year after year with effortless appeal. If your festival outfit still feels undecided, consider this your cue: a touch of Western flair is always a good idea.

Western, with a sharper edge. Black cowboy boots and a matching hat set the tone, while a black vest keeps things sleek. Then comes the twist: a flash of leopard-print micro shorts; last spring/summer’s headline trend. Expect the micro short to make another strong showing at Coachella this year, proving that even the smallest pieces can carry the look.

A clear theme runs through today’s inspiration: Western influences and micro silhouettes had a major moment last season, and they’re not letting up. Here, a duo offers two distinct takes on the trend. On the right, Western cues come through in cow print, reworked into something festival-ready, with a nod to the ’70s by way of a lace shawl and bralette that soften the overall look. On the left, the mood shifts darker through an edgier approach built on deeper tones and studded details tracing the hemlines of each piece.

This look does everything it’s supposed to do. I didn’t try hard, but I look cool as fuck. The washed black denim pants get an upgrade with an oversized belt detail at the waist that adds a ton of edge. It’s finished with a front-tied bra top featuring thick leather lacing along the hemline: very cool, very intentional. The details are all there, but nothing feels forced. A prime example of effortless dressing.

I love when a typically cold-weather look gets reworked for the heat. This leather moment is transformed by way of a very micro ruffle skirt; arguably the star of the show. It’s complemented by a red-accented oversized leather jacket and a matching red tank to tie it all together. This look is edge to the max.

Long denim shorts - jorts. I love them, you love them, we all came around eventually. The piece your spring/summer wardrobe will thank you for. Dress them up with heels, dress them down with a sneaker or sandal; they don’t really miss. Here, they’re paired with a lacy bra top to bring in a softer, more feminine touch, while a silk scarf tied around the head keeps things very festival-coded. And we can’t ignore the jewelry, it’s doing its job and then some, from the layers at the neck to the pearl accents draped along the shoulder.

A lace look and Coachella just go hand in hand. Here, lace meets the other hero trend of the festival: Western, and they work in tandem. A lace base layered with Western-inspired accessories is basically the poster child of festival dressing, and this is exactly how to get it right.

Another strong take on Western-inspired festival dressing, delivered through the essentials: hats, belts, and of course, cowboy boots. On the right, the printed denim brings in a more unexpected spin that breaks away from the usual festival formula (and honestly feels a bit more original than most). On the left, the pairing of simple shorts with a white corset top just works: clean, classic, and a little bit flirty without trying too hard.

Coachella is the time to push it. If you’ve been thinking about trying a new look, this is your moment. This is easily one of the best in the lineup, not just because it looks incredible, but because the effort and confidence behind it really comes through. It’s a whole vibe. The matching orange-toned set, with a butterfly-shaped top, mirrors a sunset in a way that couldn’t feel more perfect for the setting. Fun, flirty, and very much a showstopper.

Cottagecore has a place everywhere… even at Coachella. Here, my favorite, the jort, makes a return, this time layered over a thick lace set peeking out at the waist. A delicate ecru lace-trimmed cape drapes over the shoulders, finished with a crochet skullcap and oval gem-toned sunnies. I love this look; it’s whimsical, unexpected, and a refreshing departure from the usual Western-inspired festival style.

There’s nothing better than a look where the entire palette feels intentional, and these two examples nail it.If you’re stumped on what to wear, go all black like the look on the left. The outfit on the right proves that when it comes to accent colors, red is always the showstopper.
